Our partner, Mr. Jesús Moreno Balbuena, participated in the III International Forum for the Frontal Fight against Organized Crime: Justice, Security and Human Rights, which took place on October 2, 2024 in the city of Santa Marta, Colombia.
The event was organized by Sergio Arboleda University and, in addition to our partner, the speakers included Colonel Gustavo Berdugo, Secretary of Security and Coexistence of the City of Santa Marta; Dr. Diana Reyes Camacho, Specialized Prosecutor against Criminal Organizations; Officer Sandy Cantillo Romero, Coordinator of Migration Colombia and Professor Aldair Bueno Atencio, Director of the Ibero-American Institute of Digital Law and Cybersecurity.
At an event attended by students, professionals and members of the Armed Forces, relevant aspects of current and future criminal phenomena were addressed, such as drug, human trafficking, cybersecurity and the advancement of artificial intelligence. In addition, reflection was made on the use of force that must be exercised in light of international human rights law and international humanitarian law.
This Signature recognizes the efforts of Dr. Edwin De Jesús Lugo Quiroz, coordinator of the III International Forum for the Frontal Fight against Organized Crime, for bringing together experts who contribute to the improvement of the Rule of Law in their respective latitudes.
We would like to thank the authorities of the Sergio Arboleda University in Santa Marta for the invitation, especially the Sectional Rector, Dr. Alfredo Méndez Alzamora, and the Vice Dean of the School of Law, Dr. Kelly Viviana Aristizabal Gómez, for all their attention to Mr. Jesús Moreno Balbuena, reiterating our friendship, hospitality and reciprocity.
